Appearance: Large (up to 27 inches, 100-130 lbs), muscular guarder. Smaller than Mastiff but still substantial. Large, broad head conveys intelligence, alertness, confidence. Features dark eyes, high-set V-shaped ears, broad deep muzzle. Coats: fawn, red, or brindle.
Traits & Characteristics: Fearless at work, docile at home. Reliable, biddable but require early training/socialization due to size/guarding nature. Protective of family, wary of strangers.
Origins: England, from Bulldog/Mastiff crosses, originally to catch poachers.
