Traits & Characteristics: National symbol of Mexico. Alert, amusing 'purse dogs'. Possess loyalty, charm, big-dog attitude. Need training to prevent ruling the household. Compact, confident, ideal city pets. Too small for roughhousing; need care in cold. Adaptable if they get lap time.

Origins: Ancient breed of the Americas (pre-Columbian Mexico).
