Appearance: Tallest spaniel (21-24 inches, 55-65 lbs). Instantly recognizable by crisply curled, liver-colored waterproof coat and tapered 'rat tail'. Cleanly chiseled head crowned with topknot of long, loose curls. Often called IWS.

Traits & Characteristics: Alert, inquisitive champion swimmer. Hardworking, brave in field; playfully affectionate at home. Smart, eager to please, trainable. Can be clowns, but also determined/independent. Need exercise, especially swimming.
