Appearance: America's most popular breed. Sturdy, well-balanced medium-to-large dog (21.5-24.5 inches, 55-80 lbs). Dense, hard coat (yellow, black, chocolate). Wide head, kind eyes, thick tapering 'otter tail' signals eagerness. Often called Lab.
Traits & Characteristics: Sweet-faced, lovable. Friendly, outgoing, high-spirited companions. Bond with whole family, socialize well with dogs/humans. Easygoing personality but NOT low energy. Enthusiastic athletes needing lots of exercise (swimming, fetch) to stay fit.
