Appearance: Pugs are the 'multum in parvo' (much in little) of the dog world, packing a whole lot of personality into a compact, sturdy frame. Their faces are a masterpiece of wrinkles, topped with large, dark, and sparkling eyes that can melt the coldest of hearts. Their tails are curled so tightly they'd put a corkscrew to shame, and their coats come in shades of apricot-fawn or jet black, complete with a mask that makes them look like they're perpetually ready for a masquerade ball.
Traits & Characteristics: Pugs are essentially living, breathing clowns. They live to love and, more importantly, to be loved (and fed). They are the ultimate 'shadow dogs,' following you from room to room just in case you drop a crumb or decide it's time for a nap. While they aren't exactly athletes, they are gold-medalists in snoring and being the center of attention.
Origins: Ancient China, where they were the pampered companions of emperors who clearly had excellent taste in roommates.
